Monkhams is a leafy neighborhood in Woodford, part of the London Borough of Redbridge. It’s known for its spacious, detached homes and affluent vibe. The area was once a country estate owned by Stratford Langthorne Abbey and later developed in the early 20th century for the middle and upper classes. Former British Prime Minister Clement Attlee once called Monkhams home, and there’s a blue plaque marking his former residence.
